Major Issue with Nvidia Drivers

I suggest that anyone running these drivers revert to an earlier revision ASAP.

NVIDIA Users: Roll back from 196.75 drivers

This is a pretty urgent thing to report because it could damage or potentially completely ruin your video card if it's ignored. The latest NVIDIA drivers, 196.75-WHQL released on March 2nd, 2010 are causing issues with the video card fan control while playing Blizzard (and other) games. This is caused by the Automatic Fan Speed feature being broken in the latest drivers.

The games included are: World of Warcraft, StarCraft II Beta and Warcraft III. If you play any of these games (which I'm pretty sure you do if you're reading this website), you'll want to roll your drivers back to earlier versions until this is fixed, unless you want to replace a video card within the next few days.

To find out what version drivers you're using:

* Right-click on your desktop
* Click NVIDIA Control Panel
* When the Control Panel opens, in the bottom left corner there should be a "System Information" link; click this
* Your Driver version should be in the Details portion

The servers are now offline for updating. This means we will start running 3.3.2. Mkae sure you update your client wih the latest patches from 3.1.3 to 3.3.2.

Start all the way at the bottom with 3.x.x → 3.2.0, untill 3.3.0a → 3.3.2. Then your updates and ready to go...

Arena Points Disabled

Due to serious Arena abuse by certain players trying to farm points before the new update, all arena points have been disabled and any outstanding points people had have been reset to zero.This was going to happen with the new update anyway so all the effort that certain players put into farming points and cheating the arenas for new gear would have been wasted anyway.Disabling the points now also ensures that players cannot cheat for season 6 items until we update.

All arenas will still work as they should but they will not award any points until we update.

Ok so some of you have been hearing wild and unfounded rumours of an update from 3.1.3 to 3.2.2.Well those rumours are just that, rumours.I will now give you the official information you will all need in the near future.

We are going to update sometime next week to 3.3.2 yes thats 3.3.2!!
(This is dependant on a few very bad bugs being fixed)

It has taken so long to sort out 3.2.2 that we will skip it completely.
You all need to download the patches from the net to take you from 3.1.3 to 3.3.2 but [color="#FF0000"]DO NOT i repeat DO NOT install them until we tell you to.[/color]

Now there will be bugs and some things will not work that do work on 3.1.3 but this is to be expected and instead of certain people complaining like hell that things do not work simply make a ticket and we will fix them as fast as possible.
The players are the most important source of info i can get as you guys play the game more than i can myself, so your reports do help very much.

UPDATE: Exact date will be comming tuesday at 13.00 server time. The server will unavailable for some time at that point

Ok Im hosting a competition that will last to the last of december this year 31/12 (and the voting till 8/1 2010). The ones that can make the best promotion video of the dark portal will have a chanse to get a whole deck of darkmoon cards ,10.000 in gold and a "Full T8 Armor set" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can chose if you want nobles or any other deck. There will also be a price to the one with the most views but thats a secret. The video can be of anything as long as it is a promotion video for this server. The voting will last till january 8/1 and prices will be recieved 9/1 2010.

1.The video has to be uploaded to youtube and linked in this thread
2.You can only make max 3 videos.
3.It has to have the adress to thedarkportal.net in it.

Operation Prowls goal is to get 500 ppl playing on this server at peak times before the end of january and 1000 at the end of march. This is just 1 competition of many to come.

Next competition will be in January Mr and Miss Darkportal! We will crown the best looking male and female caracter in game in dalarna. Based on looks,cloths,special talents and of course personality. So maybe its time to get some nice looking cloths and a new haircut.

Yees! We have launched a voting system, we always said we were never going to do this, but recent research at this subject shows that it will do us good.

So we have build a voting system, each time you vote you will be rewarded a point, once you have earned more point you will be able to turn those in to get some fun items. We have only added a few rewards, but we will be adding ALOT more in the comming time.

Once you have earned enough points go the to reward panel, in there you will see the list of rewards that can be handed out, and the amount of points we charge for them. If you then click on the "Send to character button" the choosen item/gold will be send to that charaters in-game mail, so be sure to check that when you clicked the button.

This system is tottaly automated and does not reuiqre any Gm interference you handle it all on your own.

To reach the voting system click on the xtremetop button underneath the menu.

Thats pretty much it! LETS START KICKING SOME SERIOUS VOTING ASS!

We are sorry to say the servers are offline for a few hours due to essential serverside maintainence.We are hopeful they wont be down for too much longer.

We also wish to appologise for the forums being offline but this was due to circumstances beyond our control.In other words the web hoster had issues once again.

Blizzlike Arena Tournament!!

Yesss, it's happening, the TDP Blizzlike arena tournament, as promised last month!

I will eplxain a bit how the tournament is going to look like. The tournament will be held in the gurubashi arena on Sunday the 27th, the arena tournament wil start at 19:00 in the evening.

Every arena team will exist of 3 members, 1 of those members is the team captain, and will be our contact person for that team. Each team has to think of a name, and then register on [url="http://www.tdp-arena.net/index.php?p=reg"]this[/url] website. Each member is only allowed to join 1 team, so choose carefully!

Once the registations are closed, we will compile a shedule of when every team has to fight. If teams are not complete at the time they have to fight, we will wait 3 minutes, after that they will be disqualified. And the opposing team will win!

the registrations WILL close on the 25th! So be sure you team has registered then, because we will let no one in after that time!

When in a fight you die, you are allowed to ressurect and rejoin the fight. A team wins when all of the members of the other team are whiped out. The winning team will advance a round. And have to fight a second time to another victorious team. So on and on, untill we have 1 winner, which will receive the main prize!

Battleground moderation

We have all been noticing that the battlegrounds are becomming less and less fun. It is urgent that the administration takes actions to stop the battlegorund from becomming less fun.

The anti camping rule has been re-initiated. And we have come up with the following solution to keep it enforced. We now have a special BM Squad. Battle moderater sqauad. They will play in the battleground, and will warn people if they are found camping, they will then wait 10/20 seconds and if the camping has not stopped, or no sign has been given that the camping will be stopped asap, action will be taken, in the form of a Ressurection sickness debuff.

This will stop the camping in the battlegrounds. Our first battlegorund moderater is called Szandor, and more will follow.

I have changed the rules, and any instult to any member that has a high player lever then you (Gm's, admins) are instant banable, permanent. Ip and account.

Onc eyou have been banned for insulting you may appeal you ban, and if i am in a good mood, you will be unbanned after 30 days or so.

It is time to bring back the respect for the staff. Respect the staff, they respect you. Dont respect the staff, and the staff will not like you, and you dont want that for obvious reasons.

.start command

Ok the .start command has been changed slightly.When you type .start now, you will be teleported to your own race start location and not your hearthstone home.
This means that if you are a human you will be sent to Elwynn Forest and not to Dalaran for example.This is not a bug it is intended behaviour,The .start command is for when you have afallen through the map or are somehow stuck in the textures it is not a free teleport to your hearthstone location as far too many of you have been using it for.

Death Knights should not use .start to go to the trainers.IF you do then you will be in the instanced version of Ebon Hold and you will be in the wrong phase and will have to do quests to get out and restore your talent points .

All the staff are fed up with DK's who are using it for a free teleport and then whining they are stuck with no npc and no way out.

We have build a arena system. Everyone will be able to get a arena stone, which will teleport you to the gurubashi arena, in the gurubashi arena is an repair bot.

You can get the arena stone in all starting area at the "General goods" or "general Supplies" vendors. We have also added the item to [url="http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=32642"]Mojodishu[/url] and [url="http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=27667"]Anwehu[/url].

Also the 10 level PVP rule will be suspended in the arena! So your going to the arena at your own risk!

Update to Patch 3.1.3

There will be a major update to patch 3.1.3 this evening at 17:00 server time.

This is a massive change and you will all need to download the patches to take you from our version of 3.0.9 up to 3.1.3.
The patches are available from several places on the net if you search google for them.
You can also use the blizzard.launcher.exe to update your client only as far a patch 3.1.3 though.

The server will go offline during the updating process and when we come back online you will need to be patched up to 3.1.3 in order to connect.We wil have the servers back online as fast as possible and we will announce it here.

Death Knight Death Pact

Death Pact is very very bugged as im sure you all know already.You can kill a whole city with 1 press of the spell button.This is obviously not good.
Imagine the clever little so and so in a BG on a rival faction character.Poof insta win.

So without further ado it is disabled until further notice.
I will re-enable it when it is fixed and tested and proved to be working properly.

This is now fixxed and available from DK trainers as normal.
You will have to train from level 1 again but you can now level it up to level 5 max.
